A New Proto Update is Now Available

 

What's Included

Proto Cloud Version 0.18.0
  • Quickplay- A new feature has been added to quickly play content to assigned devices from the Content page, rather than navigating to the device details page.
  • Disable Device Camera- Users will be able to disable or enable the onboard camera from Proto Cloud.
 
Proto M Version 0.18.0 
  • Echo Cancellation - Improved echo cancellation for Live Beam Kit and Live Beam App. 
 
NOTE: For the Proto Beam App, you will need to use headphones for effective echo cancellation.
 
  • Improved Video Playback- expanded video acceleration and playback to more formats

How to Update

Proto M: If your M device is powered on and connected to internet for the first time, the update will automatically download after you connect to WiFi. To do so, turn on the device, select a network and enter your WiFi password. 
 
NOTE: Be sure to hit the "eye" icon to show your password and double check for spelling before connecting.
 
If you have connected Proto M to your Proto Cloud account already, simply go to the devices page and click "Update" on the corresponding device.
 
Live Beam Kit: To update simply log into the Live Beam Kit using your Proto Cloud credentials. Once you log in, you will be prompted to update to the latest version. Hit "Update" to continue. The update may take 30 minutes or more depending on your internet connection.

Below you can find an overview of the upcoming features.
 
Quickplay:
 
You can now quickly play content to a Proto Device from the Content page.

Simply select the Options dropdown on a piece of content you would like to play. Then select the "Play" option. You will then be prompted to select which devices you'd like to play to.
 
NOTE: In order to play content to a device, you must assign it first. Please make sure the content is assigned to your desired devices before playing.
 
Disable Device Camera:
 
You can now disable the Proto device's onboard camera from Proto Cloud.
To do so, navigate to the Devices page and select the Options dropdown on the device you are trying to enable/disable the camera on.
 
NOTE: Only Proto M supports disabling the device camera currently. 
 
Then select the "Enable/Disable" camera option. The device must be online to enable or disable the camera. In addition to the camera, the microphone will be disabled.
