If the Proto Beam app is not functioning properly or is displaying errors when attempting to Live Beam, there are a few methods for troubleshooting.
Closing and reopening the app:
- From the Home Screen of your iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
- Swipe right or left to find the Proto Beam app.
- Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.
- Click the Proto Beam app on your home screen to reopen.
Running a speed test:
Proto requires a minimum of 15 MBPS and recommends a 25 MBPS upload/download speed for Beaming from Beam location to the location of your device.
Run a speed test on the network your iPhone and Proto device are using to test your connection.
Reminder: If you are Beaming to the Proto M using the Proto Beam app, go to Beam Settings > Beam Quality and set the quality to Full HD. If you are Beaming to the Epic using the Proto Beam app, change the quality to 4K.
Location services turned on:
To ensure a stable connection, go to Beam Settings > Location Services and make sure they are turned on so that the app can select the closest Beam Route.
