PROTO HOLOGRAM // FIREWALL/PORTS GUIDE
Firewall and Ports Guide
ProtoOS devices use several ports to access different services. ProtoOS devices include the Epic, Luma, M, and M2. Please coordinate with your networking and IT teams to ensure the following ports allow traffic.
| Port | Description | Protocol |
| 80 | Connectivity checker service | HTTP |
| 443 | Default HTTPS port | HTTPS |
| 53 | DNS queries | UDP |
| 123 | Connection to NTP server | UDP |
| 3478 | Avatar Connectivity | UDP |
Live Beaming Requirements
To ensure optimal performance for live beaming, please review the following requirements:
-
Proto Studio App: Download the Proto Studio app, available exclusively on the Apple App Store.
-
Compatible Devices: Live beaming requires an iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) or higher (with M2 chip or better) or an iPhone 13 or newer.
-
Network Requirements:
- We recommend a dedicated (non-throttled) 25 Mbps upload/download speed for both the transmitting device and the Proto device (Luma, Epic, M).
- Please perform a speed test on the network(s) you plan to use to verify sufficient bandwidth.
- Important: Additional users or devices on the same dedicated network may impact performance and result in suboptimal live beaming quality.
Proto Built Avatars
To ensure optimal performance for Proto-built Avatars:
- WebRTC Test Tool & LiveKit suggested firewall rules
- We recommend a dedicated (non-throttled) 25 Mbps upload/download speed
-
Stable Latency: < 50 ms (ideally < 30 ms)
- Packet Loss: < 2%
- Jitter: < 30ms
Reminders:
- Staying connected: Keep in mind that public Wi-Fi often has a "time-out" period. To avoid losing any unsaved work or session interruption, it’s a good idea to check your connection every so often or simply refresh your login if you’ve been online for a while.
