The Proto Epic allows you to connect an external mic via the USB port on the back of the device. We’ve had success using an XLR-to-USB adapter for this purpose. For the microphone itself, we recommend a push-to-talk mic to avoid capturing ambient noise from the room, which can be an issue with open mics.
We highly recommend the Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen, which offers the capability to use an XLR mic and connect external speakers through a single system.
In addition to the USB option, the Epic features left-right (L-R) XLR audio ports on the back of the unit for connecting external speakers via XLR.
For wireless audio options, the Proto Epic also supports Bluetooth speakers and microphones. To connect a Bluetooth device, simply navigate to the Bluetooth menu under the Settings tab on the Epic.
