ProtoPlayer and Slim Spatial Hardware Set up and Connect Steps

🔧 Hardware Setup

For the smoothest installation, complete the following steps in order and before applying power.

Step 1 — Assemble the Slim Spatial Display

Monitor Set up

  1. Assemble the included desktop stand.
  2. Secure the stand using the included screws.
  3. Carefully install the 27" Slim Spatial Display onto the stand.
  4. Remove the protective film from the front of the display.

⚠️ Avoid applying direct pressure to the display surface while handling or installing the unit.

Orientation: The 27" Slim Spatial Display is designed for portrait orientation only.

 

Step 2 — Attach the ProtoPlayer Antennas

Attach both Wi-Fi / Bluetooth antennas before positioning or mounting the ProtoPlayer.

  1. Locate the two threaded antenna connectors on the ProtoPlayer.
  2. Carefully thread one antenna onto each connector.
  3. Hand-tighten until secure — do not overtighten.
  4. Position the antennas so they will not be pinched or obstructed.

⚠️ Important: If you plan to mount the ProtoPlayer to the display, install both antennas before mounting. The antenna connectors may be more difficult to access afterward.

We recommend keeping both antennas installed even when using a wired Ethernet connection.

 

Step 3 — Position or Optionally Mount the ProtoPlayer

The ProtoPlayer does not need to be mounted to the display and can be positioned nearby.

When positioning the ProtoPlayer:

  • Maintain adequate airflow.
  • Keep ventilation openings unobstructed.
  • Allow cables to connect without strain.
  • Leave adequate clearance around the antennas.
  • Keep the device away from moisture and excessive heat.

Optional: Rear Mounting

For a cleaner integrated installation, the ProtoPlayer can be mounted to the rear of the Slim Spatial Display.

If mounting:

  1. Confirm both antennas are already attached.
  2. Connect the included mounting pin/screws to the Proto player
  3. Install the included ProtoPlayer mounting plate to the display using the Vesa points.
  4. Secure the ProtoPlayer to the mounting plate, then secure by locking in place.
  5. Confirm the unit is securely installed.
  6. Check that the antennas, ventilation openings, ports, and cables remain unobstructed.

 

Step 4 — Position or Optionally Mount the AV Bar

The included soundbar/camera/microphone provides:

  • Speaker output
  • 4K camera
  • Dual microphones
  • Automatic camera framing and tracking

The AV bar can be positioned near the display or optionally mounted using the included hardware on top of the display.

For best results, position it where:

  • The camera has a clear, unobstructed view.
  • The microphones can clearly capture participants.
  • The USB cable can comfortably reach the ProtoPlayer.

Optional: Mount the AV Bar

27" Slim Spatial Soundbar Mount

For an integrated installation, attach the AV bar using the supplied mounting hardware.

Whether mounted or positioned separately, the AV bar connects directly to the ProtoPlayer via USB.

 

🔌 Connect Your System

Once the hardware is positioned, complete all cable connections before powering on the system. Connect the power to the Proto Player last.

 

1. Connect the Display

  • Connect the HDMI output on the ProtoPlayer to the HDMI 2.0 input on the Slim Spatial Display using the included HDMI cable.
  • ProtoPlayer HDMI OUT → Slim Spatial Display HDMI IN
  • The Slim Spatial Display receives its video signal directly from the ProtoPlayer.
  • Next connect the touch screen via the included USB-C cable.
  • ProtoPlayer USB-C → Slim Spatial Display USB-C

2. Connect the AV Bar

Connect the soundbar/camera/microphone directly to an available USB port on the ProtoPlayer.

AV Bar → USB → ProtoPlayer

This USB connection provides access to the AV bar's:

  • Camera
  • Microphones
  • Speaker

Note: The AV bar's USB connection goes directly to the ProtoPlayer, not the Slim Spatial Display.

 

3. Connect Input Devices

If needed during setup, connect a supported:

  • USB keyboard
  • USB mouse
  • Touchscreen or other input device directly to the ProtoPlayer.

 

4. Connect Optional Accessories

Connect any additional supported cameras, microphones, speakers, USB devices, or other peripherals to the appropriate ProtoPlayer ports.

 

5. Connect Power

After all video, USB, network, and peripheral connections are complete:

  1. Connect the supplied power adapter to the Slim Spatial Display.
  2. Connect the 90W power adapter to the ProtoPlayer.
  3. Connect both devices to AC power.
  4. Power on the Slim Spatial Display.
  5. Press the Power button on the ProtoPlayer.
  6. Allow the ProtoPlayer to complete startup and load ProtoOS.

6. Connect to the Network

Ethernet — Recommended

For the most reliable connection, connect Ethernet directly to one of the ProtoPlayer's rear Ethernet ports.

Wi-Fi

Both antennas should already be attached. Wi-Fi can be configured after ProtoOS starts.
