The ports that can be used on the Proto Luma for an external mic are the expansion port and the USB port on the back of the device. We highly recommend using the USB port with a device like the Scarlet Solo 3rd Gen this will give you the capability to use an XLR mic and external speakers. We've also had success with an XLR->USB adapter when using an external mic. For the mic itself, we recommend using a push-to-talk mic so that you are not always picking up the audio from around the room as you would using an open mic.
The expansion port can be used, but this connection goes straight to the soundbar instead of interfacing with the internal computer. In our testing, we have only used an expansion mic with an RJ-45 port on the mic and for the port of the Luma.
The Proto Luma also has the ability to connect to Bluetooth speakers and microphones through the Settings tab on the Luma, then navigate to the Bluetooth menu.
